“Hotdoggers” will be tasked with driving the 27-foot wurst on wheels across America for 12 months.
If you missed the chance to rent the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile on Airbnb several years ago, we’ve got good news for those who want to experience the iconic vehicle from the inside. Kraft Heinz has announced that it is seeking to hire multiple “Hotdoggers” who will be tasked with driving the 27-foot wurst on wheels across America for 12 months.
Successful applicants to the Hotdogger Program take the Wienermobile on tour across America from June 2024 to June 2025. During that time, Hotdoggers will be responsible for executing over 200 events, appearing in local media, and creating content for the Wienermobile’s social media channels.
“The team of Hotdoggers and Wienermobile offer the Oscar Mayer brand an unparalleled competitive advantage, delivering incremental sales, merchandising, distribution, and creating a personal experience with thousands of consumers each year,” notes the official job listing.
WHAT DO I NEED?
Successful applicants will need several qualifications if they want the job of Wienermobile driver. A valid driver’s license and good driving record are obviously required, but so is a bachelor’s degree. Ideally, Kraft Heinz says the bachelor’s degree should be in a subject like public relations, journalism, communications, advertising, or marketing, though other degrees will be considered.
The desire for an applicant to have a degree related to communications or advertising is perhaps no surprise given that a Hotdogger’s main job seems to be to promote the brand as an ambassador rather than simply acting solely as a driver of the dog.
HOW MUCH DOES IT PAY?
As for compensation, a Hotdogger will receive a $35,600 base salary, plus an additional $150 per week ($7,200 for the year) for meals and personal travel expenses. All hotel expenses are also covered, so you don’t need to sleep in the Wienermobile every night. Additionally, Hotdoggers will get a full health benefits package and 18 days of paid time off.
Hotdogger hopefuls can apply for the role on Kraft Heintz’s jobs site here.
