Don’t Make Elon Musk Mad — He Might Revoke Your Tesla Order

Don’t tick off Tesla CEO Elon Musk, or you might not receive your Model X.

Stewart Alsop, venture investor at Alsop Louie Partners, claimed on Monday that he was banned from owning a Tesla after Musk personally canceled his order for a Model X. Alsop said the cancelled order followed his September blog post, which was critical of Musk’s Model X launch event.

“Dear @ElonMusk,” Alsop wrote in Monday’s post. “Thank you for reaching out to me. I heard from our phone conversation that you feel that my post, ‘Dear @ElonMusk: You should be ashamed of yourself,’ was a personal attack on you. I also hear that you are not comfortable having me own a Tesla car and have cancelled my order for a Tesla Model X.”

In his September blog post, Alsop complained that the Model X launch event ran late and was poorly organized. Alsop was awaiting a red Model X with black leather seats and Tesla’s Ludicrous Speed option.

Despite the acrimony, it appears that Alsop is still a fan of the Tesla vehicles.

“Since we had our conversation, I looked around and realized that it is not possible to buy the equivalent of or even a pale copy of the Tesla Model X (or Model S, for that matter), which is real testament to how distinctive a product your company has produced,” Alsop wrote. “Indeed, I’m likely to just keep driving my irritating BMW X1.”

This reportedly strange move by Musk follows an equally odd rumor that emerged last week that claimed that Musk took a Model S set to be shipped to a customer for himself. Musk was allegedly using it as personal vehicle to test Tesla’s autopilot feature, according to BGR.
